What is Somatic Hypnotherapy?

Somatic hypnotherapy is the convergence of Body Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, and Integrative Bodywork.

A somatic hypnotherapist guides you to recall events that led you to make negative beliefs and choices about yourself. By separating the circumstantial memory from the learned negative emotional response, you become free to perceive yourself and your situation in a more realistic, more self-affirming way. In somatic hypnotherapy sessions, you actively participate in the process, overseeing your own therapy as your body and mind reveal to you your own subconscious programming. Essentially, my job is to induce and facilitate a therapeutic hypnotic state of mind and guide you throughout your therapy journey. In this induced hypnotic state, you will be more able to identify and evaluate the painful feelings and traumas that have been encoded subconsciously in your body. I’ll then guide you through a process of healing and reprogramming any outdated beliefs and choices that subconsciously stem from these painful feelings and traumas. Because the process is all about making the subconscious conscious, you will always be in control of the situation and you will retain vivid memories about the entire process. All this time, I will be beside you and at your disposal to help and guide you throughout your process of change.

Body Psychotherapy

Body Psychotherapy is a form of Somatic Therapy that is based on the belief that a functional unity exists between the mind and body and that therapeutic change occurs through direct experience of the present moment.

Hypnotherapy

What is hypnotherapy?
The term “hypnosis” comes from the Greek word hypnos, meaning “sleep.” Hypnotherapists use exercises that bring about deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness, also known as a trance.

Integrative Bodywork

Sometimes clients have organic, physical barriers to experiencing a full sense of embodiment. These barriers might show up as scar tissue from injuries or restrictive fascial patterns that formed in response to repetitive movements in sports, work, or simply living in a world that forgot we actually live in bodies.

What My Clients Say

“In just two somatic hypnotherapy sessions with Ann I’ve already noticed major shifts in my behavior! I appreciate how easy, gentle and impactful hypnotherapy is. Ann has a loving and grounded presence so it’s easy to feel comfortable and relax into the session, even as a newcomer to hypnotherapy. I’ve appreciated her warmth and compassion as I’ve processed sensitive and painful issues. I can’t believe I already feel better. And I’m making the life changes I want to make, without struggle. I highly recommend working with Ann if you are ready for change and are willing to let it be easy.
